A Sunset Hike

Wednesday, July 16th-

After a few days of orientation and exploring the beauty of the University of Sunshine coast, it was time to move our explorations to the beach. My friends and I hitched a ride to Kawana shopping center, and walked along a road that led us straight to the water. Once we reached the soft sand that rests on the coast, larger waves, surfers, and miles of beach lay before me. We continued our walk along the coast, headed towards a light house on the point.

Reaching the point near the lighthouse the soft sand beaches turned to rock. Intrigued by the formation with pools of water, cracks, and a smooth, round surface, we wandered closer to the edge where waves crashed onto the stone.

After taking some cheesy dramatic wave pictures, we walked up the hill to benches that rested in front of the lighthouse. It stood as a stunning view overlooking Mooloolaba and an open ocean filled with sailboats and kayaks. Here we enjoyed a small picnic and walked around the park as the sun was setting, and a full moon rose from the horizon. An end to a good day.
